OFFICIAL GIFT LOUNGE // 59TH GRAMMY AWARDS
Los Angeles based influencer and ethical fashion enthusiast, Agnes Muljadi, was recently invited to cover the Official Gift Lounge for the 59th Grammy Awards at the Staples Center. We sat down with her to chat about her experience backstage.
Were you excited to cover this year's gift lounge?
Yes, it was a bit unexpected but I was definitely excited to be backstage and check out the this year's items for the gift bag.
Your outfit looks so chic! How did you decide on what to wear to the event?
I knew going into the event that I wanted to be comfortable so I can move around freely. It was also important to me that my outfit reflects my belief in Ethical fashion and that all the pieces are made free of any exploitation of animals, people or the environment. So I talked to my amazing stylist Sica Schmitz & she brilliantly put together a head to toe look featuring all vegan, all sustainable, all cruelty free, all fair trade & all women owned brands from her Ethical boutique, Bead & Reel.
How did you like the venue? Where was the gift lounge located?
They set up the gift lounge backstage at the Staples Center inside a tent. I thought it was very cozy and well set up.
What was the most innovative brand/product you saw at the gift lounge?
I thought the meditation tent from the Japanese based company, Okawa 1536 was very unique and different. The craftsmanship was beautiful and it was very peaceful to sit inside. You can install it indoor or outdoor and when it is not being used, you can take the parts apart and store them away.
What were your top three favorite gifts?
- I am definitely a big fan of the Okawa 1536 meditation tent. I think it's a neat idea.
- I was also intrigued by Gold Leaf Gourmet. It's a dessert company where they send you all the ingredients you need to make their dessert in the comfort of your own home within an hour. I think it's a great idea for anyone who's hosting a party or event.
- I also love the idea behind Universitee Box. It's a monthly subscription box you can send to any college student. They put together a fabulously curated box with a major emphasis on personal reflections and positive affirmations. I think it's amazing that proceeds from their sales help support first generation college girls, at risk teen girls and girls with disabilities.
What was the biggest highlight of the event?
I discovered a lot of amazing international brands and I'm very excited to explore the possibility of future collaborations and partnerships.
Would you like to do it again next year?
Yes, absolutely! I had a great time and I’d love to do it again next year.
